Multi-scale experimental and computational mechanics of materials with emphasis on high-strength steels, new-generation energy-efficient structural materials, shape memory alloys, ultrafine-grained materials, biomaterials; design of surgical equipment for minimally invasive gastrointestinal surgical procedures; ballistic protection technologies.
Biofluids and Cardoivascular Mechanics Laboratory, Kerem Pekkan
We are a multi-disciplinary research team studying biological fluid/solid mechanics, bioinspired mechanics and cardiovascular engineering. Our independent research laboratory was launched in 2006 and housed at Georgia Institute of Technology, Carnegie Mellon University and presently at Koc University.
Manufacturing & Automation Research Center, İsmail Lazoğlu
Manufacturing and Automation Research Center (MARC) at Koc University is dedicated to the conduction of advance multidisciplinary scientific research and education in the fields of Advanced Manufacturing, Mechatronics and Medical systems.
Mechanical Characterization Laboratory, Erdem Alaca
MCL’s mission is to contribute to the broadening of our knowledge in the mechanics at micro and nanoscales through excellence in learning and research. Research and development efforts are geared towards mechanical property measurement at micro and nanoscale including the development of accompanying testing devices with specific actuation and readout components, molecular diagnostics and nano-bio interfaces.
Micro and Nanofabrication Laboratory, Erdem Alaca
Directed by Erdem Alaca this facility serves micro and nanofabrication needs of faculty and students from various departments as well as external users. Certified as Class 1000 in 2006 the laboratory has provided uninterrupted services since then.
Microstructure Evolution Laboratory, Melis Şerefoğlu
Microstructure Evolution Laboratory (MEL) Group is founded in 2013. The research activities are focused mainly on fundamental aspects of solidification science, with an emphasis on multiphase growth-front dynamics.
Robotics and Mechatronics Laboratory, Çağatay Başdoğan
RML conduct interdisciplinary research in the areas of man-machine interfaces (in particular haptics), control systems, mechatronics, robotics, biomechanics, physics-based modeling and simulation, 3D computer graphics, and virtual reality technology.
Vibration and Acoustic Laboratory, İpek Başdoğan
VAL engages in cutting edge research projects with the goal of directly contributing to the present and future exploration and development of transport systems specifically automotive, marine and aerospace applications.
Tlab's mission is to develop point-of-care medical diagnostic and continuous health monitoring devices using the principles of microfluidics, materials science, and microfabrication, and (ii) high-throughput drug testing platforms and organ-on-a-chip platforms using bioprinting, microfludics, novel biomaterials, and immunochemistry.
Our group focuses on next-generation implantable and wearable medical devices enabled by micro-electro-mechanical systems (MEMS) and flexible sensors for health monitoring or diagnostics. These bio-integrated microdevices are able to capture physical, electrical, and chemical changes within the human body. We design transducers, fabricate them using MEMS fabrication techniques or various polymer materials, then conduct in-vitro and in-vivo studies.
